Development of a Math Support System
Many of our students need math support and/or remediation. While we need to include many more students, we do have the beginnings of a reading support system in place. Ideas about developing something that can fill the same niche for math?
Intersessions
Last year there seemed to be a lot of support for the use of intersessions (a one or two week all day course that would probably be taught between semesters). Thoughts or ideas about intersessions?
SLC Structure
Can you think of a way to improve our SLC structure? Some considerations:
*We only have to offer 3 years of social studies, but in our earlier discussions we agreed that we want to have students take social studies all four years. Can you think of ways of blending other requirements into the SLC core?
*We have repeatedly witnessed increased student engagement and a demonstration of a quest for excellence when students are in a course that features something they are passionate about -- our prime examples are music, art and drama. We also know that students will have less and less access to electives as state core requirements increase. Any ideas about blending or integrating more "electives" into our core classes to tap into this?

Six-Period Day
Let's discuss the pro and cons of moving to a six-period day. I don't think we can support a five-period day due to the number of elective teachers we have (they would all have to teach several core courses for that schedule to work), but we could probably move to a six-period day if there is demand by our staff. If we move to a six-period day, do you have any thoughts about a different bell schedule?

Advisory
What is working with our current advisory system (advisory embedded in small learning communities)? What is not working? What is important about advisory? Should advisory remain embedded? Meet daily? Weekly? Monthly? Would you advocate for moving to a six-period day with a daily advisory?
