Intersessions

Last year there seemed to be a lot of support for the use of intersessions (a one or two week all day course that would probably be taught between semesters). Thoughts or ideas about intersessions?

  1. From the little bit I know about Intersessions, I think it would be a great option to explore. Giving students one more opportunity for an elecitve would open a few more doors for those students whose elective spots are filled with academic labs and support classes. Could I get some more information about what this would actually entail? Who, what, when, etc... ---Lori

  2. I love this idea! It seems like it would be a nice break between semesters or quarters where students could refresh and revive with a class that they are really excited about and would allow them an opportunity for success.

We have so many talented teachers that I am sure we could offer classes on a variety of subjects that would go far to engage students in elective material.

  3. I love the idea of intersessions. Especially as a kind of incentive for students to pass their classes. (If they're not passing, they have to use the intersession time for remediation). One of the things we have to think about is that if we DO go to intersessions, we have to make up the time in some other way, probably with a 6 period day - funny how things are all connected, huh? :)
